The seminar of studying the condition of cancerous children

Ensieh Mirzaii's birthday
In addition to the view of
treating cancerous children medically, mental treatment and
charity societies' activities were considered.

Ensieh Mirzaaii was a seven years
old suffering form AML. she was taken to Aliasghar hospital
in September 1999 and there she died in spring 2000.
She had charmed all
doctors, nurses and the students who visited cancerous
children, during her six months stay at the hospital.
Although she was a little girl, she taught us deep and big
concepts with her sweet and attractive behaviors and talks,
and she will certainly be remained in minds for ever.
After her death, some of
the students decided to hold a seminar to consider cancerous
children's conditions in a wide expansion

The plan of the seminar for considering cancerous children conditions
The plan has been carried out according to a
need in the society and with help of the councils of university students and
some high school students and it changed to a general movement.
Many of the university professors, artists and
specialists attended the seminar which was unique in several cases.
The necessity for holding the seminar:
Lack of social awareness and a basic plan is
seen in diseases most of the time. For instance there had been problems such as
lack of specialty for grafting and having banks of body organs and
some divine discussions about grafting of dead people organs about ten years ago
in Iran. These problems require scientific-specialty-divine discussions and
basic programming and a constant management. We hope that the complicated
situations of the past will change to an acceptable one.
In cancerous children affairs (blood and marrow
bone diseases) the above problems are felt, too. Mental and intellectual values
of the society have been changed to mercy without any wonderful benefits.
We can easily face social ignorance and lack of
a correct programming with a look at the statistics of cancerous children’s
death.
Charity groups attract capitals in different
ways, but these capitals are spent for usual expenses instead of basic invest
because there is no good and active system of management. But not the charity
foundation nor beneficent nor the society are guilty.
To end these coarse manners, we need a
management who can unit specialty and knowledge with people’s invest and
government’s support. A management who can base fixed elements to be available
for the next generations. But there are some questions that should be answered.
Like:

How is informing and stopping affairs to control cancer
spread?
Is there any informing at
all? Have any foundation or media had the responsibility
about the matter? Have informing methods covered all cities
and villages?
According to the researches
done by students, no information system is seen even in
Tehran, and most of the foundations and charities have a
certain section for. Remember in precluding infantile
paralysis and thalassemia national efforts could stop and
preclude these two diseases.

How are medical and
specialty possibilities about cancer in cities and
villages? Why do large number of patients crowd to
Tehran hospital? Can cancerous children travel
between their homes Tehran constantly? Are there any
possibilities to settle the patients’ families in
Tehran? If yes are the possibilities standard or
charities manage them every now and then?

Some families have
difficulties with expenses for treatment, medicines,
and bone marrow grafts. Some of them have to migrate
to Tehran because of the long durations of
treatment. Have any solutions forecasted? How
patients are supported by the society?

How are cancerous
children behaved? How is their situation? How are
they behaved by their parents and school teachers?
Are there any foundations to support the families
after a patient’s death?

The most important
difficulties are seen in health and treatment
conditions, preparing and distributing medicine, and
ways of treatment. Compare treatment methods in
different hospitals we noticed that there is no
harmonize in giving medical services. For instance,
in a certain hospital everything is done according
to acceptable standards. Even air conditioning
systems are sterilized, while in another hospital a
few cancerous children have to stay in a room with
their families who know nothing about sterilizing.
So having special hospitals with architectural
suitable methods are necessary. We also need
systematic and harmonic methods for training.
According to the researches, there is only one
hospital in Iran for bone marrow graft operations.
High expenses, crowds of patients, and low knowledge
have decreased the hospital to a usual one.
Therefore, giving lectures to increase suffering
families’ knowledge of bone marrow graft and
increasing medical techniques in hospitals are
urgent. |
Aims of the seminar
1- Exchanging
modern scientific information about blood cancer, and reaching to a solution to
decrease death which holds almost the highest record in the world. For instance
many children have died because of not observing health factors whether at home
or in hospitals in spite of specialists’ effort to cure ALL.
2- Finding ways
to generalize graft matter.
3- Exchanging
information about keeping physical and mental powers among children who suffer
from cancer during treatment chemical treatment.
4- Offering
cancerous children psychology and finding ways to behave with them.
5- Managing
attracted capitals and joining them to knowledge, wisdom, and specialty.
6- Making harmony
in architecture of hospitals so that they are suitable and have good conditions
to decrease patients’ pains.
7- Forming the
society actions with cancerous children families and improve it.
8- Harmonizing
and uniting different groups of charity.
9- Forming
national effort to support cancerous children.
10- Forming basic possibilities to
support families who suffer from cancer.
11- Establishing foundations in different
cities to cure and preclude cancer and informing about it.
12- Making centers to settle families who
come from other cities.
13- Forming centers to give mental and
financial helps to the families.
14- Establishing training centers to
train specialists, assistants, and nurses.
